The Great Lenexa Barbeque Battle (suburb west of Kansas City) started in 1982 with twelve contestants and twelve judges. This year, the contest had nearly 200 contestant teams competing for the best barbeque among seven different categories including: brisket, pork, ribs, sausage, chicken, and whole animal. [Yikes!]
