Gateway to the West

Gateway Arch, St. Louis, Mo.

Any trip to St. Louis requires a stop at the Jefferson National Expansion Memorial.

"The Gateway Arch reflects St. Louis’ role in the Westward Expansion of the United States during the nineteenth century. The park is a memorial to Thomas Jefferson’s role in opening the West, to the pioneers who helped shape its history, and to Dred Scott who sued for his freedom in the Old Courthouse."

For some great shots of the Arch, visit previous Thursdays at St. Louis DP.

Seems like you can take a picture from any angle and it turns out incredibly. I love this perspective.

That is such a fantastic picture - I'm very impressed. I really want to see that arch someday, though I suspect I'd end up taking a million pictures!

Ah, the Arch! View from the top is nice, too, even though the ride is slightly bumpy and mildly claustrophobic.
