Mama Spiders & Photography Showcase Announcement
So, it looks like a scary spider! But, according to the artist, Louise Bourgeois, the spider is a feminist hero figure—protective, deliberate, and patient. The bronze spiders hanging out at the Kemper Musuem in Kansas City honor the artist’s mother.
ANNOUNCEMENT
This summer I took a photography class at the Kansas City Art Institute. Did you know they offer all sorts of CE crafty courses? Want to learn printmaking? They offer it.
Anyhow, I'll be participating with 10 other classmates in a Photography Showcase tomorrow. If you live in the Kansas City area, I encourage you to stop by. It'll be a laid-back event, with a little food and wine, and a chance to see some photography.
Definitely feel free to bring the kids along; everyone is welcome. If you have any questions, just leave it in the comments or contact me via email (in my profile).
Photography Showcase
Saturday, Sept. 6 -- 3:00p - 6:00p
4504 Bell Street, KCMO
(one block east of State Line, in small gray building on west side of Bell)

4 Shout-outs to Waldo Oiseau:
kate,i saw ur post at 5.45 pm.rushed to see the photography showcase, but i was a bit late.it was just four streets from mine.hmm...better luck next time.
I's this a casting of Bourgeois' Maman? I've seen it elsewhere - it's almost overwhelming, frightening and terribly funny at the same time. Nice capture here from down the slope.
Sorry no comments in so long - new dimensions in overwork plus some travel.
