Help Needed

photo from Midwest Paws website

Spyder sent out a message on her blog about the Raytown Animal Hospital Adoption Center needing volunteers right now. They seem to be a pretty small operation, and they just got a huge influx of pointers! They are working with Midwest Paws (www.midwestpaws.com) to give these dogs a home until they can place them either permanently or in foster care. (hehe, I should try working on Owen to be a foster dad, no?).

River Valley Puppies, a puppy mill in Missouri, was burned down by its owner within the last two weeks. Apparently, the dogs survived because they were loose on the property. Take a look that these sweeties!

I called the Raytown adoption center and will be volunteering there tomorrow morning, whether it's walking the dogs, cleaning cages, etc. If you have a few hours of free time, why not give them a call?

Please pass this along to anyone who might be interested in helping out. I believe that even if you can only offer to help out just one time for a few hours, that could really help them.

Also, if you just don't have time to spare, but have a couple of dollars burning a hole in your pocket, please consider making a donation. Right now they really, really need DOG FOOD and disinfectant (preferably non-bleach ... just the sort of concentrated stuff you mix with water ... things like Pro-force, or Lysol).
